Ciao, fellow travelers!
If you’ve been looking for a place to explore one of the world’s most fascinating countries, you’ll be happy to know you have three more nonstop flights to take.
American and Delta are adding to their Italian portfolios, and Alaska is ready to jet across to Europe for the first time ever!

You’ll have a pair of Italian icons a smooth flight away, or you can jet off to one of Italy’s most beautiful islands, where our Senior Lead Writer, Vini, happens to be visiting and showcasing all its glory right now on the ‘gram!
Without further ado, these are 3 new exciting flights to some of Italy’s most stunning destinations:
Get Ready To Roam Rome With Alaska’s First European Adventure
Seattle will be the latest city with a nonstop flight to one of our planet’s most iconic cities dating back to, you guessed it, Roman times.

Before you go, you should know Rome is one of a laundry list of European cities that have been yanking welcome mats from tourists’ feet with overtourism concerns.
Many travelers have quite literally yelped their complaints about long lines at famous landmarks, sky-high prices, strained infrastructure, and an overly curated feel for such a city that’s largely accepted as Italy’s cultural heartbeat (though Naples might disagree).
That being said, is Rome ever a bad idea? No, as long as you have a beat on what’s going on. You’d be hard-pressed to find someone willing to turn down a trip to “The Eternal City”, whether it’s to stuff themselves with unmatched cuisine, peruse wondrous sites, or try to uncover world secrets at the nearby Vatican.

Make sure you check out quite possibly Rome’s most romantic boutique hotel where the renowned city’s delights are quite literally at your doorstep.
There’s no rush, though; you’ll have plenty of time to coordinate your trip from top to bottom.
Alaska’s inaugural European flight is set to debut May 2026, but tickets will go on sale at an undisclosed date in fall 2025.
The flight schedule is slated for 4 days per week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 1:45pm.
Note: American Airlines also launched a new Miami – Rome flight this week.
Canals Are Calling! Venture Off To Venice From Texas
American’s new DFW-VCE route took off on a next-generation Boeing 787-8 last Thursday. According to local Dallas-metroplex news source WFAA, North Texans are craving European vacations as Venice will mark the 10th European direct route from American out of DFW.

Oddly enough, like Rome, Venice may be even more well-documented for its overtourism concerns, but that won’t stop Texans who are notorious for proudly driving larger-than-life pickups, polluting the Earth one exhaust at a time.
Hey, don’t hate me…I used to be one of y’all….
Venice has implemented new rules, but not enough to deter travelers from visiting this unparalleled phenom of winding canals, sensational cuisine, and timeless artistry.
As much of a headache it can be to visit nowadays, there’s truly no place like it, no matter how many dupes other travel publications claim there to be.

Make sure to pay the required ‘Access Fee‘ to visit the historic center. Scroll the calendar to ensure you’ll be able to visit.
Set Your Clock For Island Time With Delta’s New Flight To Sicily
Sicily is a name we all know, but not a place we know a lot about except for any local Italian restaurants at home serving up Sicilian Pizza, but I think we can all agree, the real deal is best served at the source.
Sicily may be known as a foodie destination at most, but the island as a whole is an excellent Amalfi Coast alternative to avoid the yuppity summer crowds in exchange for open shores and more culture.

Delta’s first foray into Sicily will land you in the underrated city of Catania, a slow-paced city to enjoy the finer things in life.
You know, waking up to sounds of church bells with a velvety cappuccino, perusing timeless streets to people-watch the locals and take in immense historical sites, and grab a waterfront bench to take in sweeping views of the sparkling sea, or better yet, use Catania as a gateway to explore a treasure trove of lesser-known gems, such as Syracuse.
Delta’s new historic flight has already been a hit, taking off from New York’s JFK late May. It marks Americans’ only direct connection to Catania and Delta’s 5th Italian destination.
